Dealers – Ever wish you could just let a customer that is already fluent with Composer HE also have the power to rename devices? Hate getting the calls to rename Living Room Light to Ceiling light or customers that want everything to be plural? or change TV to television. Here is your answer!
Customers – You ever wish you didn’t have to call your dealer for every little thing? Already flunt with Composer HE and just want to have a little more power?
Here is the answer to both parties wishes – a driver to allow Composer HE to be able to rename devices.

- CD players
- Controllers
- Fan Switches
- IO
- Light Switches
- Plasma displays
- Pool Controllers
- Projectors
- Receivers
- Remotes
- Speak points
- Thermostats
- Touchscreens
- Tuners
- TV’s
If there is a device not listed above that you would like to be able to rename, follow the directions in the documentation and it will be included in a future update.
Version 1.0.1 added the ability to programatically update the name of devices and refresh navigators. This could be used to rename a lamp where the Christmas tree plugs in every year on a schedule and then rename it back in January.
Note: This driver does require a dealer to install one time. We also recommend having the HouseLogix auto update driver installed as we will be adding the ability to rename additional devices over time. With the auto update driver, you will be able to have the ability to rename new devices within 72 hours of them being added and without the need to contact your dealer.

- Enter the license key in the License field.
- Select a single device you would like to rename in the Device Selector and click set
- Type in the new name for the device and click set
- Project Tree will flash as device renames
- Rename all devices you would like, then select file ⇒ Refresh Navigators to ensure your navigators are updated
If one of your devices is missing in the device selector we need a little information to add it to the driver. As shown in the screenshot below hover over the device and use the contact form to send the proxy file name to Greenfield Solutions.
